Read a little and get hooked!!!

Fernando adjusted the towel around his waist. “How did you get this info?”
“It just appeared in my email.”
“Please tell me it didn’t come through your spam.”
Josh chuckled. “Would it matter? We’re talking Elite Classified Online Dating. You know how exclusive they are. No one can get in their site without an invitation.”
“Why don’t you use it?”
“Nah. I’m not looking for an ever after.”
“What makes you think I am?”
“Nothing. Are you?”
“No.” Fernando walked to his desk and sat down as he turned on his laptop. “What makes you think it’ll work?”
“I don’t. I’m trying to get you to have an adventure, which will keep you busy thinking of something other than Angel.” Josh paused. “Look at it this way: you show up, if you don’t like what you see, you pretend you’re in the wrong place and leave. It’s simple.”
“Easier said than done.” Fernando scrolled through his emails.
Josh laughed. “You’ve got nothing to lose.”
“Isn’t the invitation addressed to you anyway?”
“So? It’s not like Elite has the time to sit there and make sure whoever they invite is actually the one completing the application. I’m sure I’m not the only one to pass on the invitation.”
Fernando leaned back in his chair and clicked the link to Elite’s site. “Yeah, yeah.”
“Tell me how things work out, all right?”
A black page displayed on his laptop. “Hey, Josh. I gotta go.” Fernando didn’t wait for his friend to reply before disconnecting. Narrowing his eyes, he leaned forward.
Welcome to Elite Classified Online Dating. Do you have an invitation?
If the invitation attached to the email counted as one, he did. He typed yes.
What’s your secret username?
He switched to the email Josh sent him to look up the username, and then went back to the page. Tempt_Me.
Excellent. What’s your secret password?
Fernando pulled up the email once more to look up the password. At_Midnight.
“Fantastic!” He jerked his head back, startled at the voice sounding from his laptop speakers. The word “Fantastic” danced around the page before settling in the middle of the screen. “Did you know our approach to dating is in bed? We at Elite strongly believe sexual compatibility is the way to a happily ever after. We dare you to dare us to find your perfect match. Do you dare?”

Masters At Arms by Kallypso Masters

Just finished this book while lounging by the pool.  This is the first in a series of books and I love the way the author uses this book to introduce the characters.  The book is divided into chapters introducing the reader to Adam, Marc, and Damian.  Each end up in the same Marine unit and share a dramatic experience during a battle but each have previous issues that build their character.  I really enjoyed this series and look forward to the next book Nobody's Angel which will take us to Marc's more personal story.  After finishing the Shadowslands Series I was excited to find this one.

Twenty year old Lane Montgomery never imagined her usually boring summer in the boonies would require her to trade her toe shoes for hunting boots or her monotonous college textbooks for treasure map deciphering. Never would she have imagined after breaking her grandmother’s precious Native American statue, danger, a lost treasure of Cherokee Gold and a hostage situation would arise. Nor could she predict that the one man destined to protect her and her family was her childhood nemesis and former crush, Maddox Diaz.

Returning after three years in the Army, twenty-three year old Maddox Diaz is confronted with more than he bargained for when agreeing to help his childhood buddy and deepest regret, Lane. Suddenly he is thrust into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with armed and ruthless treasure seekers that results in car chases and gun battles all in the presence of the one girl who still manages to haunt his dreams and drive him wild with desire.

Lane is determined to deny the sizzling chemistry with the man who stole her virginity and broke her heart. She just wants to stay alive with her heart intact. Will she be able to resist the man whose body sets fire to all her senses?

Masters of the Shadowlands 1-7 by Cherise Sinclair

Wow what a great series for a summer read if you don't want to get anything done.  I read this entire series in a little over a week.  It was recommended to me through a facebook group and let me tell you it didn't disappoint.  I loved how the author took each male character and introduced them very subtly in the first book, then brought them front and center in each of the following books.  The friendship they had was strong and made me wish for a group as supportive.  I wasn't sure about the BDSM but it was weaved through the books so well it seemed natural.  The writing was quick and funny and what more can I say!  I love them all and wish one of them would marry me.  What was especially entertaining was how the author took an issue of slavery and kidnapping and brought the characters together to heal and track down the bad guys.  Definitly five star.
